Who we are

St Luke’s & St Jude’s is a newly created Anglican parish on the east side of Liverpool.

We are part of the Diocese of Liverpool and Huyton Deanery, our parish has been created by joining the traditional parishes of St Luke, West Derby, and St Jude, Stockbridge Village together.

This is an exciting time of fresh vision and new opportunities as the two churches come together as one to serve the community by being an active presence of God and displaying the life-transforming love of Jesus. (We meet on Sundays at 10:45 am at St Luke’s Church on Princess Drive and on Tuesdays at 10 am at Jackson Gardens in Stockbridge Village.)

Our journey is just beginning and we'd love you to come and play your part in it. Whoever you are, we believe you can find a home with us to explore Faith, encounter Jesus, and experience Love. 

Vision, Priorities and Values

Our vision as a church is revitalisation - of ourselves, our church, and our community.

We believe the only way for that to happen is for people to encounter Jesus and his love for them. The Bible tells us that Jesus is God’s revelation of himself to us and that we can know God and know God’s love for us and know God’s life-transforming power in our life, through Jesus. 

As we grow as a church in this community we hope to be a vibrant and active presence of God, serving our community and encouraging people to explore faith, encounter Jesus, and experience love.

We try our best to help this happen through our priorities and our values.

Our priorities are to love God, love people, and love ourselves through:

Preaching the Gospel: through worship, outreach, and discipleship.

Investing in Families: through toddler groups, schools work, and children’s and youth ministry.

Serving the Poor: through social justice projects and food ministry. 

By doing these things we hope to see the revitalisation and transformation of our community.

Our Values are:

Worshiping Together: making time daily and weekly to worship God with our lives and our lips, sometimes through music but always through doing the things we love to do or things were good at to give glory to God.

Focusing on Mission: being out and about in the community to share the Gospel message that Jesus loves everyone and wants them to know they’re welcome home anytime.

Learning about Discipleship: learning and growing together to be better followers of Jesus.

Loving our Community: being a welcoming and inviting church where people can make connections and life-changing friendships.

Serving the Community: serving the communities of West Derby & Stockbridge Village to show how much God values the places and people who live there.

Offering Hospitality: enjoying food and celebrating special occasions together as a church and as a community.

Praying Together: whether we’re speaking to God, listing to God, asking for stuff, saying sorry, saying thanks, or marvelling about how amazing God is, prayer is a massive part of our life at St Luke’s & St Jude’s.
